Envelope Budgeting​

The Your Numbers method is not other than the envelope budgeting, used by most personal finance apps. This method mimics what you would do if you had only cash and would distribute it into envelopes, each with a single objective, like rent or groceries.

  • Envelope "Rent" -> €1000
  • Envelope "Groceries" -> €200
  • An so on

The main idea can be summarized in one phrase: Give every euro a job. Mind that it says every and not most or some. Every euro you have must go into one envelope, even if its job is a bit diffuse.
